These implants are smaller than regular dental implants. They are typically used to hold a denture securely in place. Because MDI’s are small they may be a good choice for patients with thin or narrow jawbones.

What are the benefits of MDI?

• About half the cost of full-size implants
• Quicker healing
• Less invasive
• Typically done in one visit

How is it done?

MDI’s are placed through the gum and usually require no incision or sutures. Once placed your existing denture will be modified with specialized attachments that will snap over the implants and hold the denture securely in place.

Who can get MDI?

• Anyone who desires a secure fitting denture
• Is in reasonably good health
• Has limited bone available for full-size dental implants
• Has an existing useable denture
